I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in private practice in Manhattan, NY. Prior to moving to New York City, I was a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern working under the supervision of Doug Maesk, LMHC of The Maesk Group, Inc. I have over nine years experience in mental health counseling and clinical research. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. I subsequently received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Florida International University in Miami, FL. As a part of my graduate work, I completed a year-long full-time internship at F.I.U.'s Counseling and Psychological Services Center. During my internship, I received specialized training in short-term, solution-focused counseling models. I am currently working towards my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at New York University.
I have worked as a clinical researcher for the University of Miami, the University of Delaware, and Nova Southeastern University. I was also an adjunct instructor at Southeastern University.
I have treated adults with a variety of mental health problems, including: depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactive disorder, substance abuse, and other addictions. I have helped couples to improve communication, enhance conflict resolution skills, and to increase intimacy. I also have extensive experience working with LGBT clients, including helping clients to "come out," navigate successful romantic relationships, and improve self-esteem.
I look forward to speaking with you about how I may be of help to you!
